Teaching is a very important part of what I do.  As a former student of countless dedicated teachers, I understand the impact of effective private teaching and offer individually tailored lessons for every student.  

 

Through warmups, fundamentals, etudes, and solo repertoire, I teach problem solving, self-awareness, discipline, and analysis using the principles of the Scientific Method.  My goal is to instill a deep appreciation of music and the process of learning it in each student, regardless of his or her flute playing aspirations.

I am also proud to hold a music education degree and have experience teaching students in large group settings.  Part of my work at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp in Sitka, Alaska includes organizing and teaching elementary general music classes, flute masterclasses, and mixed chamber music.   Click here to contact me for information regarding availability, location, and lesson rates.  Private lessons are available in person and via Skype.
